THE ANNUAL GRANT COMPETITION FOR EXHIBITIONS AND EDUCATIONAL PROJECTS IS ANNOUNCED
The ABLV Charitable Foundation is announcing its annual grant competition "Support for Contemporary Art Exhibitions and Educational Projects in 2018", inviting artists and arts institutions to present their exhibition concepts therein.
The final stage of the design of the Latvian Museum of Contemporary Art is about to begin
The development of the sketch design for the Latvian Museum of Contemporary Art building has been completed. As soon as the construction permit is received, the final stage of the design of the museum building will begin, which is due to be completed by the middle of next year. The museum is being built according to the conceptual design conceived by the winner of the international design competition: the architectural firm Adjaye Associates (United Kingdom) and AB3D (Latvia).
A NEW KIDS’ PLAYGROUND HAS OPENED OUTSIDE RIGA CATHEDRAL WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE FOUNDATION
On 30 August, with the support of the ABLV Charitable Foundation, a children’s playground known as the Labyrinth was opened in Doma Square beside the cathedral. It was designed by sculptor Liene Mackus and actualized by the NGO Sineccura, in collaboration with Riga Cathedral. The new playground is freely accessible to both Rigans and visitors to the city, and serves as a functional and aesthetic environmental object. The project was implemented under the ABLV Charitable Foundation’s “New Riga” programme.

The exhibition from the collections of the internationally renowned fashion historian Alexandre Vassiliev and Latvian museums “Children’s World. 18th – 20th Century” is on view at the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design in Riga (10/20 Skārņu Street) from 3 August to 1 October 2017.
