Gints Gabrāns

In creating his series of photon paintings, Gints Gabrāns utilizes the laws of physics and chemistry. The images are created when a laser beam in a dark room breaks upon a specially prepared reflective surface: a drop of water on a micro-mirror. The projection obtained is “recorded” on large-format photographic paper with a light sensitive surface. After treatment with photographic chemicals, a unique “Photon Painting” created with a laser beam is obtained, where the entire surface of the photographic paper is informatively saturated with the imprints left by photon.
