Ieva Iltnere

In creating her series of works entitled “A Happy Childhood”, artist Ieva Iltnere has used her childhood drawings, transferring individual fragments of them to the surfaces of her paintings. To increase the size of the drawings in accordance with the format of the paintings, the artist used an old technique, which has been familiar since the construction of the pyramids: scaling. An object or image is created, which is on the relevant scale, similar to the way in which architects create a house design that has a certain scale.
